The 2024 football season is not off to a good start for the Cincinnati Bengals.
As it stands on Tuesday, Sept. 24, the Bengals are 0-3, having lost to the New England Patriots, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Washington Commanders (plus all their preseason games). They’re also sitting at the bottom of the rankings in the AFC North.
With another season of potential heartbreak for Bengals fans looming, it begs the question: What would you give up to see the Bengals win their first-ever Super Bowl? In a recent survey, sports media company Action Network put that exact question to the test.
In the survey, over 3,000 NFL fans in the U.S., 64 of those being Bengals fans, were asked what they would sacrifice to see their team lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy. For Bengals fans — let’s just say there is a lot we would give up for that glory, including all-expenses-paid trips and dates with our celebrity crushes (and sometimes even your marriage — no judgment, but yikes):
- An all-expenses paid trip to a Las Vegas casino: 33%
- A date with your celebrity crush: 30%
- The last ever concert of your favorite artist: 27%
- A winning bet of $2,000: 25%
- Family wedding: 13%
- Annual bonus: 6%
- Your honeymoon: 6%
- Your own wedding: 5%
- The funeral of a close family member: 5%
- Your marriage: 3%
- Seeing your child being born: 3%
- Retirement savings: 2%
The survey also posed the question: Would you skip work to attend a victory parade if your team won the Super Bowl? Unsurprisingly, 72% of Bengals fans said, “Yes, abso-effing-loutely.”
Research for this survey was conducted by Research Without Barriers between July 31 and Aug. 5. You can see the full results here.
