AfriFest: Taste of Africa returns to downtown Cincinnati later this summer to celebrate all things African culture.
On Saturday, July 18 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., thousands of families, students, professionals, artists, vendors and community partners will come together at Sawyer Point for a public celebration of the continent hosted by the African Professionals Network (APNET).
From live music and performances to Afrobeats, drumming and traditional dancing, AfriFest keeps the rhythm going all day. Guests can explore a wide range of African and Caribbean food vendors and food trucks, discover handcrafted goods, art and unique products, and enjoy fashion, culture and community showcases.
“AfriFest is more than a festival; it is a movement of joy, connection & impact,” said APNET President, Professor Prince Ellis, in a statement. “We invite the entire region to experience the heartbeat of Africa right here in Cincinnati.”
This year’s celebration will also include AfriFest Week, taking place July 13 to 18, with additional programming focused on culture, heritage, business, youth, professionals and community engagement.
APNET is currently accepting applications for vendors, exhibitors and entertainers. For more information on AfriFest, check out APNET’s official website.
