With the new season of And Just Like That… premiering on June 22 on the newly minted Max, we couldn’t help but wonder: How would Carrie Bradshaw spend a day in Cincinnati?

If you didn’t know, Sarah Jessica Parker, who has played Carrie Bradshaw since Sex and the City premiered in 1998, was born in Nelsonville, Ohio, located about 15 miles from Athens. She grew up going to ballet and theater productions in Cincinnati.

Though Carrie would probably not be caught dead in the Midwest, CityBeat is imagining a reality where the Queen City is the iconic character’s stomping grounds. Here are the places in Cincinnati we think Carrie would frequent on the regular.

Where she would live: Over-the-Rhine As the center for art, food and fashion in Cincinnati, Carrie Bradshaw would live in Over-the-Rhine, probably in a cozy and renovated space. Fans of the show know that Carrie is a forever renter, always holding on to her rent-controlled apartment, and she doesn’t care much for a kitchen. A window overlooking the street and an oak desk would be all she needed to get inspired and get writing. Photo: Hailey Bollinger

The Echo 3510 Edwards Road, Hyde Park Founded in 1945 in Hyde Park by Louise Schwartz, The Echo has become a neighborhood attraction for Cincinnatians everywhere. Despite being founded over 73 years ago, The Echo has adapted to the modern consumer, but the breakfast classics — from eggs benedict to the corned beef hash — remain intact. 83. Ride the streetcar While originally a contentious public transportation project, the streetcar — currently officially known as the Cincinnati Bell Connector — now offers riders the chance to travel a 3.6-mile loop from Findlay Market to The Banks downtown. With 18 stops (entertainingly narrated by hometown celebrity Nick Lachey), it’s certainly one way to get around whether you’re a tourist or playing one for the weekend. Cars come along every 12 to 15ish minutes and take you past cultural destinations like Music Hall, the Contemporary Arts Center and Fountain Square. Tickets are $2 for a day pass, so it’s a cost-effective way to see city highlights (and/or bar hop) without using your legs. cincinnati-oh.gov/streetcar. Where Carrie shops: Idlewild Woman After stopping at the CityBeat office, Carrie would need a shopping break to relieve the stress of her busy morning. We can see her pursuing the selection at Idlewild Woman and Sloane Boutique for new styles, and of course, fabulous shoes. She may even stop by Leftcoast Modern for a few new vintage pieces to populate her OTR apartment. Photo: facebook.com/idlewildotr
Where the girls get lunch: Maplewood Kitchen and Bar Maplewood Kitchen and Bar could be the best spot for the Sex and the City girls to meet for lunch. The menu includes 3 classic salads (Goddess Greens, Super Greens and Chopped), perfect for ladies who lunch. The additional variety of juices, bowls and sandwiches would satiate the girls, all while staying put in the center of the city. Photo: Hailey Bollinger
Where Carrie is dragged to trendy exercise classes: The Breathing Room While Carrie isn’t known for being sporty, we think Samantha would drag her to trendy workouts. The Breathing Room in O’Bryonville has the latest and greatest pilates workouts. We can see the ladies rolling in for an afternoon workout, maybe with a Rooted Juicery cold-pressed green juice in hand. They’d chat the whole workout about their most recent dating hits and misses. 6. Sotto 118 E. Sixth St., Downtown “The thing that is special about Sotto is that it hits all the marks. Beautiful atmosphere, exceptional service, and wonderful food make an evening there unforgettable.” -Oneya O. Photo: Hailey Bollinger
Where the girls get cosmos: The Bar at Palm Court Since it’s the hottest bar in the city right now, Samantha would drag the ladies to Somerset Bar on McMicken Avenue. Somerset doesn’t have a specialty cosmopolitan on the menu, though, so after one adventurous drink, we can see Charlotte dragging the girls back to The Bar at Palm Court for the perfect cosmo in a classic, old-money space. No. 2 Best New Bar: Ghost Baby 1314 Republic St., Over-the-Rhine This subterranean nightclub/music venue opened beneath the streets of Over-the-Rhine last winter. The venue holds 160 guests and is located several stories below Vine Street in a 170-year-old lagering tunnel formerly used by Champion Brewing (beer was aged and cooled in lagering tunnels before the advent of refrigeration). The historic, dimly-lit space, which has been vacant since the 1850s, features soaring ceilings with stone archways and decor that is adorned with “crushed velvet and unpredictability,” according to a release. Guests can expect an immersive experience with art, design, cocktails and live music. Photo: Aparna Avasarala Photo: Aparna Avasarala
Where the girls go for a weekend getaway: Lake Cumberland Finding the Hamptons alternative in Cincinnati is a hard task, but Lake Cumberland has some upscale, modern cabins that we can see the girls escaping to during a summer weekend. They’d be proud of themselves for surviving the weekend (and the mosquitos), and they might even have a great time. Photo: Facebook.com/LakeCumberlandKY
What special event the girls would attend: Future of the Arts Gala Cincinnati has some local fundraisers and benefit galas that we can see the ladies attending. They’d be at the annual Future of the Arts Gala at Music Hall (any reason to dress up and show out for a good cause, right?). The Project Rainbow Fashion Show, which was on April 29 and put on by the Greater Cincinnati Human Rights Campaign, would have been an automatic RSVP for the ladies. Photo: Wikimedia Commons
