This September, Kroger’s forthcoming downtown location will offer five local dining options in their food court.
The grocery chain announced in a press release on July 27 its plans for the store’s “first-of-its-kind dining experience.”
Diners can look forward to enjoying bites from Cincinnati favorites like Django Western Taco, Eli’s BBQ, Queen City Whip, Dope Asian Street Fare and Kroger’s Kitchen 1883 Cafe and Bar. At the Kroger annual shareholders meeting yesterday, Rodney McMullen, Kroger’s chairman and CEO, also said the new store will have a Murray’s Cheese Bar and a Starbucks.
“Kroger’s new food hall concept is our latest culinary creation,” explains Kroger’s senior director of culinary development Teri Rose in the press release. “It will be an exciting food-centric space our customers can enjoy.”
Kroger on the Rhine is an 18-story building that houses not only a grocery store and dining court but also residential units and a parking garage.
“As our hometown, Cincinnati has always been special to Kroger,” said McMullen. “Over the years, we’ve invested in the city in many ways, and our new downtown store is just one more way we are investing in local innovation, redefining the customer experience and partnering for customer value.”
