Cincinnati Reds catcher Tucker Barnhart has been doing a special promotion for #TakeoutThursdays on his Twitter page, where he’s been asking fans, friends, followers, whoever, to support a certain business.Â
Barnhart has been opening up $500 tabs at various restaurants — for example last week he spent $500 at a taco joint and a pizzeria in his hometown of Zionsville, Indiana — and telling people they can call in after a certain time and mention his name to get $25 off their order.Â
This week, he decided to give back to health care workers at Good Samaritan hospital.Â
Barnhart partnered with Frisch’s to deliver 40 $25 gift cards to hospital personnel. He also set up a tab worth $500 at Taste of Belgium for anyone to call in to use after 12:30 p.m. to get $25 off.Â
Barnhart said, “A sincere thank you not only to Frisch’s for partnering with me and matching my donation, but to the healthcare workers that on a daily basis are putting EVERYONE above themselves and risking their lives to help during such a tragic time. With so much negativity surrounding us during this time, we very much hope that you with enjoy a meal on us.”
#TakeoutThursday lunch edition! With help from @FrischsBigBoy and @CocaCola we are working with Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincy. Join me in supporting our local healthcare workers for their next meal! Separately we are also working with @tasteofbelgium at the Banks! @Reds ⬇️⬇️ pic.twitter.com/ztzANRCvey
