Cincy Soul: The Black Taste soul food festival is back this weekend (July 26-28).

The fest features a weekend’s worth of food and activities on Fountain Square and Fifth Street, between Vine and Walnut streets downtown, plus live music from the likes of Montell Jordan and Roxanne Shante on Saturday and Lil’ Mo, Kwame and Arin Ray on Sunday.

Coinciding with the Cincinnati Music Festival —  by far the longest-running popular music festival in Southwest Ohio, with origins dating back to 1962 — the event features more than 40 black-owned restaurants, food trucks and caterers, according to event organizers.

The goal of the fest is to “unite, cultivate, foster, educate and highlight African-American entrepreneurship, while celebrating the black experience through culinary excellence,” says cincysoulblacktaste.com.
