A Cincinnati roastery is expanding north with plans to open a new coffee bar in Montgomery this spring.

Deeper Roots, which owns coffee bars in Oakley, Findlay Market and downtown Cincinnati, as well as a roastery in the West End, announced this week that it will open its fourth store location at 9340 Montgomery Road in the Montgomery Quarter. The coffee bar will be in a 1,300-square-foot space in a mixed-use development that also houses Kitchen Social, Bru Burger, Livery, Kozue Sushi and Ramen and Hellman’s Clothiers.

“Some of the very first cups of Deeper Roots Coffee were served at the Montgomery Farmers Market,” Les Stoneham, Deeper Roots Coffee CEO and co-founder, said in a press release. “We see this space as a return to our roots, as well as an expression of how we’ve grown over the years.”

The menu will be the same as Deeper Roots’ other locations, including beloved items like the Coffee of the Day, Honey Bear Latte, a variety of single-origin pour-over options, seasonal signature drinks, Rishi Teas and barista features. There will also be sweet and savory pastries and baked goods made by pastry chef Megan Ketover and Deeper Roots’ in-house bakery team.

Deeper Roots says its Montgomery coffee bar will be filled with natural light and a variety of plants that will connect the indoor space with the outdoor patio. The inside space can seat 30, while the patio can accommodate up to 40 people. The interior, designed by Cincinnati-based Indio, will feature simple white oak millwork and neutral and earthy tones. There will also be a community table and a nook for demonstration and education, which Deeper Roots says reflects its deep commitment to connection.

“This is a unique opportunity to serve coffee at the intersection of Old Montgomery and a radically new community at Montgomery Quarter,” Jon Lewis, Deeper Roots Coffee’s director of community engagement, said in the release. “Wherever you live, work and recreate, we want that sense of harmony and a beautiful cup of coffee to be right around the corner.”

Deeper Roots says its Montgomery coffee bar is scheduled to open late in the spring. After opening, store hours will be Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
