One of Covington’s most popular restaurants is branching out to the early risers.

Smoke Justis, the barbecue-and-bourbon joint located at 302 Court St., has created the brand Blue Tin Coffee to serve local pedestrians on their way to work each morning.

The restaurant will now offer coffee and a special breakfast menu, with new hours to match, as they will now open at 6:30 a.m. each day.

“Whether you’re commuting to work or simply admiring in the majesty of the Roebling Bridge on your morning walk, give us a visit and try the new beans out, maybe even some brisket biscuits & gravy,” a social media post from the restaurant said. “We’re biased, but we think Covington is the most vibrant city around. We’re always trying to build something more and more special in this special place we call home.”

Smoke Justis opened in 2016 and has since become a community staple for their smoked meats and expansive selection of Kentucky’s favorite liquor. It is also well-known as a gathering spot for sports games and the like thanks to the gargantuan TVs scattered around two floors.
