Popular Oakley brewery MadTree’s annual birthday bash, Bonanza, is happening this weekend, and on top of the festivities, it will also be celebrating the grand reopening of its new kitchen.
Bonanza is happening in MadTree’s taproom all day Saturday, March 16 and will feature live music, family-friendly activities, rare beer and the brewery’s new menu.
“Bonanza is our favorite party of the year,” MadTree founder Kenny McNutt said in a press release. “It started in my backyard and grew into this amazing annual celebration. This year is extra special for us. It’s a milestone marked by a new menu and a whole new experience for our guests.”
After the departure of Catch-a-Fire Pizza last year, MadTree closed its kitchen for renovations. Changes include advances in technology and built-in efficiency, like adding mobile ordering from anywhere within the space and streamlining the to-go ordering process. The new menu still features pizzas, along with new items like nachos, snacks, salads, sandwiches and a kids’ menu.
Bonanza kicks off at 10 a.m. with a ticketed tie-dye event ($35 for adults and $28 for kids. You can buy tickets here.), and rare and specialty beer tappings every hour until 6 p.m. Games and activities run all day, including giant Jenga, cornhole, pop-a-shot, Connect 4 and kids’ activities like ring toss, coloring pages, chalk stations and more. There will also be a photo booth.
Band Soul Pocket will perform from 6-10 p.m. in the Barrel Room, and there will also be karaoke in the Oakley Room from 8-11 p.m. MadTree will also be hosting hourly gift card giveaways all day.
As part of its 1% For the Planet commitment, MadTree will donate 1% of all sales during Bonanza to local nonprofits like Cincinnati Parks Foundation, Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, Adventure Crew and Groundwork ORV.
MadTree is located at 3301 Madison Road in Oakley. Its Bonanza runs from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, March 16. More info: madtree.com.
