Over-the-Rhine is losing another restaurant after the owners of B&A Street Kitchen announced they will be closing permanently next week.

The eatery has been serving Tex-Mex and Southern breakfast and lunch dishes from their 1500 Race St. location and walk-up window since opening in April 2017. It’s also been a popular OTR brunch spot.

Owners Jim and Norma Kerns took to social media Monday to share that B&A Street Kitchen will close on Thursday, Oct. 12.

“Choosing to say goodbye to B&A was not easy. Over-The-Rhine has a unique magic – supportive neighbors, a space for individuality, and a nurturing environment for dreams. It has been an honor to be a part of this community,” the couple wrote on Facebook.

The Kernses didn’t share the reason behind the closure in the post, but went on to thank their staff and guests for their support over the years.

“To our incredible staff, both past and present, we owe a debt of gratitude that words cannot express. Having a committed, hardworking, and friendly staff is rare and we are endlessly grateful to them. … To everyone who has graced our tables over the years, whether you are a longtime patron or just discovered us, your presence has been the heartbeat of B&A and we are truly humbled and honored to have served you.”

B&A Street Kitchen is one of several OTR restaurants that have closed this year, including Copper & Flame, PearlStar, Jack Brown’s Burger Joint, Mighty Good: Meat ‘n Three and Pontiac.
