You can win two tickets to see FC Cincinnati take on Argentinian soccer star Lionel Messi and Inter Miami CF in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup thanks to a local empanada restaurant.
The Empanada’s Box, which offers authentic Argentine-style empanadas with globally inspired flavors, is hosting the giveaway on its Instagram page (@theempanadasbox) from Aug. 6 to Aug. 20 with entries closing at 10 a.m. A winner will be randomly selected to see the Aug. 23 matchup at TQL Stadium.
Owners of The Empanada’s Box Diego, Fabiana and Lucas Nunez said they were excited to host the giveaway because they’re natives of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and big fans of Messi — even having his picture hanging inside their restaurant — as well as FC Cincinnati.
“It’s like two worlds colliding, our country’s soccer hero and FC Cincinnati playing on the same field right here in Cincinnati,” Diego Nunez said in a press release. “We felt like that was something to celebrate.”
The Empanada’s Box will also have a special meal deal to honor the occasion. From Aug. 6-20, you can get three of their empanadas — the Buenos Aires (seasoned ground beef), Cinci Chili (Cincinnati-style chili and mild cheddar) and Miami (marinated pork shoulder, Swiss cheese, pickles and mustard) empanadas — and a yerba mate tea for just $10.
