The final concept for the upcoming Newport on the Levee micro food hall has been announced. Asian street fare concept Stick and Buns will be one of four restaurant spaces opening in The Galley on the Levee.
Stick and Buns’ menu will showcase street food favorites encompassing different Asian dishes, like their pork belly bao bun, caramelized cauliflower bao bun, Korean chicken wings, beef bulgogi skewers, a crispy Thai chicken bowl and rotating dishes influenced by Kentucky and the Levee.
Culinary Institute of America graduates Lee Cummings and Mike Cappellino co-own Stick and Buns and are bringing over 20 years of combined experience in the food and beverage industry. Cummings worked at Orchids at Palm Court in the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza before starting Occam Dining, a private dining company serving professional athletes and other high-profile Cincinnati locals, in 2016. And Cappellino has worked in upscale New York City restaurants, as well as a private chef in kitchens on superyachts, private estates and at private beach clubs.
“When presented the opportunity to venture into a restaurant space alongside a seasoned partner like Galley Group, we quickly jumped at the chance to attach our brand to this established and thriving concept. The company’s multi-city presence is a testament to its expertise and proven track record, and we felt like the cherry on top was its hospitality approach, which aligns perfectly with our vision for Stick and Buns,” Cummings said in a press release.
Stick and Buns will join other concepts Los Tacos Hermanos, Four Mile Pig and Zaria Italian Street Eats, which were announced earlier this summer, at The Galley when it opens in the Central Plaza this fall.
