Tuba Baking Co., located in Dayton, Ky. announced its closure in a Facebook post made April 13.
In the announcement, Valerie and Drew Rath, co-owners of Tuba Baking Co., said they wanted to spend more time with their kids and focus on the next chapter.
The Rath’s told LINK nky in December 2025, that business slowdowns can hurt more when you’re juggling the responsibilities of being a parent while running a small business.
“It’s definitely stressful,” Valerie Rath said in December. “We’ve got three young kids. Anybody that’s doing this, unless you’ve got big backers or something—we’re not making a lot of money doing this. This is very much because we love to do it.”
Tuba Baking Co. will officially close its doors on Saturday, June 27, after eight years in business.
“Our fans and customers have blown us away with your love and passion for the food we’ve put on a plate and the family we’ve cultivated at our bar and in our Biergarten,” the Facebook post reads in part. “We love serving you, we love this area, and we love what we do, but it is time we focus on our next chapters.”
