"We're Coming Back Baby." Ludlow Bromley Yacht Club Announces it Will Reopen After 2019 Barge Crash

It’s not all bad news in Greater Cincinnati’s restaurant and bar industry: More than five years after being hit by a barge and forced to close, Ludlow Bromley Yacht Club is officially reopening.

Rumors of the floating restaurant and marina’s return have been swirling for a couple years, but the owners are confirming them now, writing on Facebook Friday, “We’re coming back baby.”

Additionally, Lagoon Saloon, which is where Ludlow Bromley Yacht Club relocated to after the barge accident, posted a call for applications for bartenders, service and wait staff, kitchen staff and cooks, dishwashers, food runners, bussers and barbacks.

“It’s finally happening!!! We are looking for and now accepting applications for hardworking individuals who are ready for some ‘serious fun’ to join our team at the Ludlow Bromley Yacht Club!” Lagoon Saloon shared.

Ludlow Bromley Yacht Club was forced to close in October 2019 after being struck by a barge on the Ohio River early one morning after the navigator fell asleep at the wheel, according to the Coast Guard. The barge caused significant damage and sent six nearby boats and part of the marina adrift on the river. One person was reportedly on a boat in the marina at the time of impact but was not injured. No other injuries were reported.
