Jonathan Pearson is the sole Republican candidate for the county commissioner seat. Pearson previously ran as a Republican for the county commissioner seat in 2024, where he lost to current commissioner Alicia Reece.
Pearson will face the winner of the Democratic May primary between Stephanie Summerow Dumas, Herman Najoli and Meeka Owens.

Pearson has owned Pearson’s Home/Turf in Fairfax since 1992, having formerly worked in golf course maintenance.
Pearson did not respond to a request for comment. In a 2024 interview with WVXU, Pearson said his primary concern as a potential county commissioner would include “maintaining a well-studied budget,” and “keeping the public informed.” He also stressed the need for lower taxes and rent.
