A unique hybrid of video album and performance art, Out There is stopping in Cincinnati during its national tour. Performance Art-Rap duo Princess (Alexis Gideon and Michael O’Neill) created and present the piece, which combines pre-recorded and live sonics and visuals into a psychedelic sci-fi story while critiquing modern society’s misogynistic foundations.
Princess have been exploring the fluidity of queerness in their work for over a decade. The near one-hour experience features Gideon and O’Neill performing on either side of a large screen depicting an accompanying video album in 4k made in collaboration with visual artist Jennifer Meridian and the band TEEN. Think concept album, but in an intimate live setting.
The tour kicked off with a sold-out show at the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh.
