With major concert venues such as Riverbend Music Center and the all-new Andrew J Brady ICON Music Center filling up their schedules for summer, other venues across the Queen City have continued to book a wide variety of live music and shows for this fall. Check out the new shows that have been announced this week below.


Vanilla Ice, Rob Base, Tone Loc, Naughty by Nature, Aug. 21, Great American Ball Park

The Cincinnati Reds will be throwing it back to the last time the club won a World Series with an “I Love the ‘90s” concert after its game against the Florida Marlins. Featuring Vanilla Ice, Rob Base, Tone Loc and Naughty by Nature, the ’90s Hip Hop legends will play some of their biggest songs, hopefully after a Reds win. Last Podcast on the Left, Aug. 29, Taft Theatre

The podcast known for its comedic take on dark subjects such as cults, war crimes and haunted areas will stop at Taft Theatre as a part of the group’s “Mama Mia! Here We Go Again” tour. The three hosts — Ben Kissel, Marcus Parks and Henry Zebrowski — will dive into “the dark side of humanity” on Aug. 29, with tickets going on sale at 10 a.m. July 9 at ticketmaster.com and the Taft Theatre box office.


Animal Collective, Sept. 7, Fountain Square

The group that has had a strong impact on the Indie music scene since the early 2000s is coming to the Queen City as a part of a four-date tour through the midwest. Animal Collective will play hits from their discography that includes 10 studio albums. The concert at Fountain Square is free to the public and tickets are not required.


Taj Mahal, Sept. 12, Memorial Hall

The 77-year-old Blues artist — with a career spanning more than five decades — has continued to be significant in modern music, earning his third Grammy Award in 2017. The Blues Hall of Famer will perform at Memorial Hall as a part of the Longworth-Anderson Series that includes pre-concert gatherings with local live music, beer, wine and light snacks. Tickets will be available at noon July 9 on memorialhallotr.com.


Mike Epps, Oct. 15, Heritage Bank Center

The actor and comedy star with his own Netflix standup special is coming to town as a part of his “In Real Life” tour. Fellow comedians DC Young Fly, Karlous Miller, Kountry Wayne and Desi Banks will join Epps on stage that will make for a night full of laughs. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. July 9 on ticketmaster.com.


Testament, Exodus and Death Angel, Oct. 29, Madison Theatre

The three Metal bands from the San Francisco Bay area will hit the road together on the nationwide “Bay Strikes Back” tour that will stop at Covington’s Madison Theatre. The tour will feature both new and rescheduled dates. The announcement of the tour comes after Testament released its 13th studio album Titans of Creation. Tickets are on sale now at ticketmaster.com.


Mystery Science Theater 3000, Nov. 9, Taft Theatre

The 1980’s sci-fi comedy is bringing its live show to Cincinnati as a part of the “Time Bubble Tour.” The shows will include the bizarre bits that the Emmy Award-winning show was known for, as these sketches along with its satirical commentary are what made MST3K so beloved.
