Cincinnati Metro has some big changes in motion, but they want input from the community to discover what will be the most impactful.

The service will host three online meetings in March for locals to attend and submit their final feedback on the transportation system’s proposed new routes, location frequencies, travel times and transit infrastructure.

These meetings are the last opportunity to submit input before phase one of the Reinventing Metro plan begins on May 31.

As part of the plan, nine routes— 4, 11, 16, 17, 20, 33, 43, 46 and 78—are subject to change to include increased frequency and additional weekend service. Some routes will even feature 24-hour service.

Representatives of the Metro claim that these transportation improvements will boost the region’s economic development by establishing expanded service and enhancing customer amenities. This plan will also ultimately forge better connections between job candidates and employers or employment centers, representatives say.

“We’re committed to delivering on our promise of creating a new and improved transit system that connects more people to jobs, medical services and education and that enhances our region’s economic vitality,” Darryl Haley, CEO and general manager of Metro, says in a news release. “That’s why it’s so important to us that we take the time to hear from the community each step along the way to ensure it continues to reflect their evolving needs and wants.”

Residents can also submit written feedback on the current proposed changes via an online survey, fax or mail. If received by 5 p.m. on March 3, the feedback will become part of the official meeting’s public record.

The meetings will take place on the following dates: 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 2; noon Wednesday, March 3; and 6 p.m. Thursday, March 11.

Attendees can click on the preferred date to register, and everyone who attends will receive a free day pass for the Metro.
