Fans of the TBS sitcom Sullivan & Son will recognize comedian Roy Wood Jr. The veteran comic plays Roy, a bar regular on the series. While he welcomes TV work, stand-up is still his first love. “My act now is more about things that make me want to punch walls,” he says. “It could be something as simple as paying for extra sauce when I order chicken nuggets. I still consider that to be one the greatest travesties in this country in terms of just extorting the working man.” Condiment issues aside, things are going well for the Birmingham, Ala., native. In addition to his steady gig on Sullivan & Son, his prank calls continue to be syndicated to dozens of radio markets and he was featured on Jamie Foxx’s satellite radio program.
