Cincinnati-bred singer/songwriter Eric Diedrichs currently resides in Lexington, but his Cari Clara project (featuring band members from the Cincinnati area) hasn’t missed a beat since his move from the Queen City. Need proof? The label Deep Elm Records (which distributes CC’s releases) recently unveiled a new compilation album with songs from its roster of artists dubbed The World Won’t Spin Forever and the lead-off cut is the new Cari Clara track “Safe,” the first peak at Diedrichs and Co’s new full-length. The song (and whole compilation) is available as a free download from the Deep Elm site—- here.
The comp also has a track from The Lions Rampant, “70-30,” off of the group’s 2008 EP Plays Rock and Roll. Cincinnati’s 500 Miles to Memphis — playing its last local show of 2010 this Saturday at the Southgate House, following a year that found them playing around 250 shows across the country — also records for Deep Elm (though the band isn’t featured on the compilation).
The new CC album is due from Deep Elm in Spring of 2011.
