Tea Party Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) wasn’t appreciative of the distortion of his patriotism by the “idiot Liberals” at Florida’s New Times. Last week the Florida paper provided commentary on how West celebrated Flag Day: diving with an American flag. “There’s nothing really bad to say about Rep. Allen West going diving off the coast of Deerfield Beach with a bunch of military veterans — except for the fact that he violated U.S. federal law in the process and provided a pictorial of himself doing so.” Responding to the criticism, West writes in his newsletter that people who made note of the violation “are probably just jealous because they cannot dive to 80ft into a hard current and proudly carry an American flag.”—-

On a scale of one to ‘I wish I could dive 80 ft into a hard current and proudly carry an American flag,’ how jealous are you?

West continued his written assault, saying, “Well, doggone, sorry, perhaps next time I will put on a tie-dyed shirt and jeans, dance around singing anti-war, anti-American songs and burn a flag.” Actually, West, you could do that. It doesn’t violate the constitution and is protected under the First Amendment.

Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann are reportedly the two Republicans that left-leaning voters would like to see run against President Obama in 2012. The Netroots Nations conference, which was attended by more than 500 people who consider themselves liberal, also found that Mitt Romney won the poll asking who progressives least want to face Obama. The survey, which lacked any scientific credibility, was essentially an X-mas list of what some Democrats would like to see in the presidential race. The straw poll also found that the participants were strongly supportive of Obama despite some public misgivings. Many found his military engagement and healthcare misgivings as shabby.

Also upset with the president is former Vice President Al Gore. In a 7,000-word essay for Rolling Stone that was posted online today, Gore says that Obama has failed to stand up for “bold action.” Although Gore credits Obama’s political appointees with making hundreds of changes that have helped move the country “forward slightly” on the climate issue, the president “has simply not made the case for action.”

“Obama has never presented to the American people the magnitude of the climate crisis,” Gore says. “He has not defended the science against the ongoing withering and dishonest attacks. Nor has he provided a presidential venue for the scientific community … to bring the reality of the science before the public.” As recently as April, at a Democratic fundraiser in San Francisco, Obama said he was “not finished when it comes to energy.”

Bloomberg reports that the unrelenting Apple company will release a new iPhone as soon as September. So glad I spent my coin on this outdated piece of 4G poopcrap.
