Getting her start playing drums with Canadian Garage Pop trio The White Wires, Allie Hanlon began Peach Kelli Pop as a solo outlet for her own songwriting. Peach Kelli Pop (Hanlon does all of the recording and friends join her on the road) is a mix of ’50s Rock & Roll shimmy and Bubblegum head-bopping. Hanlon’s songs have a charm similar to Shonen Knife’s spin on classic Pop, except instead of emulating The Ramones, Hanlon’s endearing, infectious songs are presented as raw, lo-fi melody nuggets that would be right at home on a K Records 7-inch circa 1993. Peach Kelli Pop has had music released by esteemed labels like Infinity Cat and Burger Records; on the current tour (a precursor to forthcoming road treks in Japan and Europe), fans can pick up a new single from Porchcore Records and a rarities cassette issued by Lollipop Records.
