Sir Nicholas Winton was a British stockbroker who, much like Oskar Schindler, secured the lives of close to 700 Czech and Slovak children before the onset of World War II, but Winton never spoke of his heroic efforts. If not for his wife discovering a collection of documents in their attic, the world would still be none the wiser. Winton, now 103, has a “family” of descendants who strive to pay it forward in their own lives today. Slovakian director Matej Minac presents Winton’s story as well as those of the generations that followed and adds key insight from the likes of the Dalai Lama for additional perspective. Now open at Mariemont Theatre. (NR) Not screened in time for review
