Les Miserables

Les Miserables

Are you ready to head for the barricades? The musical theater program at the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) will meet you there with their staging of Les Misérables
Les Miz tells the story of the virtuous Jean Valjean, who is imprisoned for stealing a loaf of bread and spends a lifetime paying for his “crime.” As one of the world’s longest-running musicals, it offers a powerful story told via a sweeping score and vivid characters, some good, others evil. Several outstanding CCM seniors are playing leading roles, including Blaine Krauss, recently featured in CityBeat’s “Love List” (issue if Feb. 5).

Through March 9. $18-$35. Patricia Corbett Theater, CCM Village, University of Cincinnati campus, West Corry Street and Jefferson Avenue, Clifton Heights, 513-556-4183, ccm.uc.edu.
