This weekend, University of Cincinnati students will offer a variety of medical services completely free of charge.
On Saturday and Sunday, Students involved with UC’s student chapter of Remote Area Medical will head to St. Xavier High School in Finneytown at 600 West North Bend Road to provide free medical, dental and vision care for all.
Clinic doors open at 6 a.m. each day, and patients will begin gathering in the parking lot the night before. Services are free to all, including children, and there are no insurance, ID or income requirements.
For medical care, the clinic will provide basic physical exams and screenings, RX consultations, women’s health services, and more. Patients are asked to bring any medications they are currently taking. For vision care, the clinic will feature complete eye exams, eye health evaluations and prescription glasses made on site.
In regard to dental care, there will be cleanings, fillings, extractions and X-rays available. There will also be denture services, albeit with a limited number of spots.
When patients enter the parking lot, volunteers will direct vehicles to park and wait, so everyone stays in order by arrival time. Service tickets are distributed based on arrival time. Each patient must be present to receive a service ticket. Patients must remain on site to keep their place in line.
