Jay Madera "Curb Appeal" video still

Last month we shared the richly emotive “Curb Appeal,” the excellent debut single from Cincinnati Indie Pop artist Jay Madera. Today we’re thrilled to premiere the music video for the track.

Directed by Alok Karnik, the clip has the same moody-to-jubilant spirit as the song, with Madera strolling across Cincinnati rooftops (sometimes with the contemplativeness underlined by a cup of coffee/bathrobe combo) and exuberantly biking through the streets.

“You can guess that it’s (an) archetypal breakup song,” a press release says of the track. “There’s the self-doubt, the isolation, the resentment. But there’s also the watershed of catharsis, the reunion with the self, and the magic of moving on. ‘Curb Appeal’ is the story of a love lost and a groove found; it is as much of a toe-tapper as it is a testament to the power of moving on.”

Madera is performing live on Veteran’s Day (Nov. 11) at MOTR Pub. The free, 9:30 p.m. show will also feature Kaitlyn Peace & The Electric Generals.
