Coney Island may be gone, but its popular holiday tradition will live on in a new home.

In December 2023, in the middle of the season of its drive-thru holiday lights show, Nights of Lights, Coney Island announced it would be closing permanently after being sold to Music & Event Management Inc. (MEMI), a subsidiary of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, to make way for a new, state-of-the-art music venue. The closure left many wondering what would happen to some of Coney’s most popular events, including Nights of Lights.
