Super Bowl LIX is live Sunday at 6:30 p.m. for a rematch two years in the making. Just like they did in 2023, the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs will go head to head for a Super Bowl win, and people have mixed feelings about it.
Some people want the Chiefs to do what no team has ever done and win three Super Bowls in a row; some want the Eagles to take down the seemingly unstoppable Chiefs. Others are bored and wish it was two totally different teams.
Personally, the Eagles are my second favorite team, with the Bengals at number one, of course. The Eagles’ media team does amazing work highlighting the personality of the team, and Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley are an exciting duo to watch.
To be honest, the Chiefs broke my Bengal heart two years ago during the AFC Championship. (No, I am still not over it.)
So, you can guess who I’m rooting for, but who is everyone else rooting for? Well, we asked Cincinnatians on the street who they were rooting for in this year’s Super Bowl. Keep reading to see their surprising answers.
Name: Daniel Massoud
Age: 27
Favorite team: Cincinnati Bengals
“I am rooting for the Eagles because I do not like the Chiefs. I just want something new, something fresh. I don’t want the Chiefs to have a three-peat, to be honest.”
Name: Rickey Hall
Age: 68
Favorite team: San Francisco 49ers
“Who is playing in the Super Bowl? The Eagles. The Chiefs have won enough.”
Name: Marlena Schaff
Age: 51
Favorite team: Detroit Lions
“Well, to be honest, really neither team, but I think I am going to have to go with the Eagles. Honestly, I am a little tired of the Chiefs winning. I actually like Pat Mahomes and I think he does a really good job, but I’m just not wanting them to win again.”
Name: Mark McCord
Age: 55
Favorite team: Kansas City Chiefs
“I’ve been a fan of them (Kansas City Chiefs) for a long time. They’ve been horrible and now they’re great and everybody hates ‘em.”
