Cincinnati will launch its inaugural Mittenfest at Washington Park this February.
The two-day outdoor event will take place Feb. 20-21 and will feature craft beers, live entertainment and food vendors for locals to enjoy during the last cold snap before springtime.
Mittenfest’s $25 ticket includes three 12-oz. draft beers from the beer booths, one Coca-Cola product or water from the Washington Park concessions, and one draft beer to enjoy at a later date (2/20-3/28) from a participating local brewery. Beers from Mittenfest beer booths are limited to pre-registered guests only.
Attendees will be able to purchase additional refreshments.
Several breweries are scheduled to participate at the festival including Rhinegeist Brewery, 50 West Brewing, Taft’s Brewing Company, Christian Moerlein Brewing Co., Platform Beer Co., Samuel Adams, Rebel Mettle Brewery and MadTree Brewing.
Washington Park’s The Porch will also offer its usual slate of beverage selections, including beer, wine and liquor, for purchase.
Washington Park will have additional seating areas and portable heaters scattered throughout the park. Since the event will be outside, organizers encourage attendees to wear appropriate clothing such as winter apparel, including but not limited to the fest’s namesake.
Facial coverings are also required for COVID-19 safety at the event.
“Masks must be worn at ticket pickup, while ordering drinks / food, when moving around common areas, and in the restrooms. You may remove your mask only while seated to consume your food or drink. You will not be served without a mask,” the event page explains.
Food trucks will be stationed nearby 11 a.m.-5 p.m. both days. Attendees may purchase food outside of the event, but everyone must be seated at a table while eating.
A live DJ will play music throughout the duration of the festival.
Attendees are not allowed to bring outside alcoholic beverages into the event. If one is discovered to have alcohol that was not purchased on site, it could result in an open container ticket.
In case of severe weather conditions, the festival will be rescheduled and ticket holders will be notified via email.
Tickets are now available to purchase here. To avoid long lines, ticket holders will select a time to pick up their ticket on the day of the event. Ticket holders must provide a photo I.D. to prove that they are 21-years-old or older.
