Spring is upon us, and with it comes baseball season. And while, like most events, things might look a tad bit different this year, you can still expect plenty of your gameday traditions and some exciting new additions as well.
As the Cincinnati Reds prepare for their return, and in light of emerging safely from the COVID-19 pandemic, Great American Ball Park has some outlined some new health guidelines and initiatives to keep their guests healthy, including reduced capacity, mask requirements, contactless payment, social distancing, pod seating, four-person elevator limits, and plenty of hand sanitizer and soap throughout the stadium. Additionally, Major League Baseball is not permitting players to sign or autograph balls for their guests.
Ready for the fun stuff? GABP’s new Boone County Bourbon Press Club is taking over the stadium’s former press box, where folks can sip on bourbon from Northern Kentucky distillery Boone County and enjoy all-inclusive eats and drinks. Tickets are also sold in pods and guests will have access to their own individual bourbon lockers.
The stadium has partnered with TriHealth to offer an engaging “family zone” space where kids can play wiffle ball, hit balls in the batting cages, and play on the playset. The space also includes a sensory suite for families with children who have sensory issues or need a place to relax. Adults can also have some fun in the “family zone” with a bar, swings and seating with a view of the Ohio River.
