[PHOTOS] Scott Dixon Rules Mid-Ohio Once Again at Honda Indy 200

Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, filled up for the long weekend for the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio. From July 4-6, some of the best drivers in the world filled the track and surrounding farmland with the roaring sound of the V6 hybrid engines.

Álex Palou, driving the Chip Ganassi Racing car, took pole position on Saturday, setting a lap time of 1:05.0125, Palou’s ninth pole position of the season. Coming into the 90-lap race on Sunday, the expectation was that Palou was going to take the victory as he has so many times this season (he notably won the Indianapolis 500 in June).

After leading Sunday’s race for 84 laps, Palou dipped his car into the dirt going through turn nine, allowing Palou’s teammate, Scott Dixon, to overtake him and take the lead.

Dixon would go on to win the race five laps later, with Palou coming in second place and Arrow McLaren driver Christian Lundgaard coming in third.

This was Dixon’s seventh time taking the win at the Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio, making Dixon the most decorated driver around Mid-Ohio. Sunday saw Dixon win his first race since June 2024 and his first win in INDYCAR’s hybrid engine era.
