“La Cocoa” is bringing caramel ice cream to Reds fans all over the Queen City.
Local ice cream chain United Dairy Farmers has partnered with Cincinnati Reds superstar Elly De La Cruz for a brand new flavor. Titled “Dulce De La Cruz,” the rich caramel ice cream features silky swirls of luscious caramel sauce throughout.
The popular ice cream shop is also introducing the “#44 Shake” for just $4.44, a decadent new creation that pays homage to Elly De La Cruz’s jersey number. The shake blends Elly’s special ice cream flavor with toasted coconut and even more caramel sauce, making it the ultimate way to enjoy every Reds victory throughout the season.
“I’m excited to partner with UDF to bring one of my favorite flavors to fans, and Dulce De La Cruz is all about sharing something I love with the city and the people who support me every day,” said Cruz in a statement. “I can’t wait for Reds fans to enjoy this flavor all season long.”
The limited-time flavor will debut in UDF stores on Monday, May 18.
“Working with Elly De La Cruz is an exciting way for us to celebrate one of Cincinnati’s brightest stars while creating memorable experiences for our customers,” said UDF’s CEO, Michael Ahmed, in a statement. “From a signature ice cream flavor to fun in-store promotions, this collaboration brings together two hometown favorites for an unforgettable summer.”
In addition to the exclusive new ice cream flavor and shake, fans can look forward to even more Elly-themed offerings throughout the year, including:
- Elly De La Cruz Iced Cookie – A UDF-exclusive iced sugar cookie featuring Cruz’s likeness will be available in stores, while supplies last.
- Elly Steals Third Promotion – Customers can score a double and steal third just like Elly! When they purchase any two cold, bottled beverages, they’ll get a third beverage free, now through December 2026.
- 44 Cent Fountain Drinks – For a limited time, in honor of Elly De La Cruz’s iconic No. 44 jersey, customers who mix and match select standard candy bars, 2 for $4, or king-size candy bars, 2 for $6, can also score any size fountain drink for just 44 cents. Deal available May 1–June 30.
- Dulce De La Cruz Ice Cream at Local Grocery Retailers – Coming later this summer, pick up pints and tubs of Dulce De La Cruz to share with the family, available at Kroger, Dorothy Lane Market and UDF retail locations.
