Newport’s New Riff Distillery has been nominated as one of the nation’s top 20 Best Craft Gin Distilleries by USA Today network’s 10Best Readers’ Choice travel awards.
What the heck are the 10Best Readers’ Choice travel awards? It’s an expert/editor-nominated, reader-voted series from USA Today in a range of travel-related categories including food, alcohol, things to do, etc. in which 20 nominees are selected and then readers vote for the top 10 via a voting portal. Â
According to the write-up, “The Kentucky Wild Gin from New Riff Distilling uses local wild foraged Kentucky botanicals, like wild juniper berry and American spicebush, to capture the flavors of the Ohio Valley. Some of this gin rests in New Riff bourbon barrels for a mellower barrel-aged gin with hints of oak and vanilla.”
Voting is now open and you can vote for one nominee per day per category through Sept. 22.Â
