There’s a new cafe open in Over-the-Rhine.
Ericka Leighton-Spradlin opened her boutique, Continuum, at 1407 Vine St. in OTR 10 years ago. She’s now expanding the storefront to include a new concept, Cafe Continuum. The cafe features an assortment of small bites, pastries, coffee, tea and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as small housewares and a variety of other items.
Leighton-Spradlin says, after a decade of success with her eclectic concept shop Continuum, she wanted to bring something new to OTR. With past experience as a barista and the dream of owning her own coffee shop, she says she jumped at the chance to expand when a neighboring space opened up.
Cafe Continuum is quaint and cozy, and Leighton-Spradlin says she wants the space to cultivate a deeper sense of connection of the moment. The space features artwork from Archived Interiors and Jack Wood Gallery, as well as custom interior details by Four Eyes Ceramics.
“My greatest inspiration for the expansion has been to create an uplifting experience that lightens the load of being human and accentuates the joys of being; here and now, a deep appreciation for the present moment,” Leighton-Spradlin said in a press release.
The menu offers Deeper Roots coffee, Masha Tea and pastries from El Camino Baking Company in College Hill.

“In just the last few weeks, we’ve seen two of our longest-standing commercial tenants announce sizable storefront expansions and introduce new and exciting concepts to the neighborhood,” said Christy Samad, executive vice president of Civic & Commercial Space Activation for 3CDC. “This is the type of growth we strive for, and having worked with Ericka for over a decade, we are confident she will be just as successful in the food and beverage space as she has been in retail.”
Cafe Continuum recently held a soft opening for friends, family and neighbors. The cafe will now be open Thursday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
