Last year, the release of the documentary Louise Bourgeois: The Spider, the Mistress, and the Tangerine was well timed to widen discussion of the sculptor’s work then on display in a huge retrospective at the Guggenheim Museum in New York. Bourgeois, well into her nineties, creates sculpture, installations, drawings and prints that plumb her own subconscious and confront society with unflinching, enigmatic visions of the human condition. Now the Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus offers us a regional opportunity to see that film and, thus, a glimpse into the life of an artist The New York Times describes as a “a true (and sometimes terrifying) original” and a “haunting and haunted master.” It screens at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $7 for the general public; $5 for members, students and seniors.
