Cirque du Soleil Varekai

Cirque du Soleil Varekai

Count on Cirque du Soleil to take a simple story and elevate it to the universal. In this touring show, a solitary young man falls from the sky — perhaps it’s Icarus who flew too close to the sun? — into a magical forest populated by fantastic creatures. Of course, they’re played by mind-boggling acrobats, jugglers, aerialists, contortionists, clowns and more. Varekai means “wherever” in the language of the gypsies, and that’s where the young man’s journey takes him: on a trek through the world of the imagination. Like most Cirque shows, this one promises to be breathtaking, astonishing and thoroughly entertaining.

Through Sunday. $37-$165. Bank of Kentucky Center, 500 Louie B. Nunn Drive, Highland Heights, Ky., 800-745-3000, cirquedusoleil.com/varekai.
