Democratic Vice Presidential Candidate Kamala Harris was slated to travel to Cleveland on Friday, according to the Joe Biden campaign.

That visit has been canceled after two people who were on a flight with her have tested positive for COVID-19: a non-staff flight crew member and Liz Allen, communications director to Senator Harris, says a statement from the Biden campaign.

“Senator Harris was not in close contact, as defined by the CDC, with either of these individuals during the two days prior to their positive tests; as such, there is no requirement for quarantine,” reads the statement. “Regardless, out of an abundance of caution and in line with our campaign’s commitment to the highest levels of precaution, we are canceling Senator Harris’s travel through Sunday, October 18th, but she will keep a robust and aggressive schedule of virtual campaign activities to reach voters all across the country during this time. She will return to in-person campaigning on Monday, October 19th.”

The flight took place Oct. 8 and since that time Harris has had two negative PCR tests, the most recent of which was conducted on Oct. 14.

In addition to her Ohio stop this week, Harris was also slated to make an appearance in North Carolina on Thursday, when the state begins early voting.

The campaign says other staffers on the flight have also received PCR tests and have tested negative. The campaign has begun contact tracing.

Biden was just in Ohio Monday, traveling to both Cincinnati and Toledo while Republican VP Mike Pence was in Columbus. Both parties would be delighted to collect the state’s 18 electoral votes, which swung hard for Trump in the 2016 election and are typically regarded as crucial in determining the presidential winner.

Harris, a California Senator, has been campaigning while also participating in Senate confirmation hearings for Judge Amy Coney Barrett. She was also the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party’s keynote speaker at its annual dinner last year.
