Apparently modern teen vampire tales haven’t quite been put to rest, because Vampire Academy swoops in with its rigid divide between the peaceful Moroi, who live quietly among us, and the Strigoi, a bloodthirsty clan that wants to take over the world. Fortunately, the Moroi have half-human/half-vampire helpers called Dhampirs, like Rose Hathaway (Zoey Deutch), who are ready and willing to fight for humans and Moroi alike, if only she can make the cut at the Academy.
