Fairfield will soon have its very own Wawa — the second location for the brand in both Ohio and Greater Cincinnati.

On Tuesday, Wawa announced it would officially open the Fairfield store, located at 3501 Tylersville Road, on Thursday, June 26. The first Greater Cincinnati/Ohio store opened in Liberty Township at 7198 Cincinnati Dayton Road this past April. The company says it expects to open eight to 10 Ohio locations in 2025 as part of its Midwest expansion.

Wawa is a chain of stores that offer fresh food, beverages, convenience, fuel and more. While the first modern Wawa store opened in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, in 1964, the company’s history dates back over 200 years.

“We are grateful to the Buckeye State for embracing us with open wings when we opened our first store in April in Liberty Township and are excited to continue to serve the Ohio community with our second store in the state located in Fairfield,” Brian Schaller, president of Wawa, said in a press release. “With each new store, we bring our unique combination of fresh food and beverage, convenience and service to local communities, and we extend our commitment to being a good neighbor through community partnerships.”

Wawa will celebrate Fairfield’s grand opening with a ribbon-cutting, T-shirt giveaways and a “Hoagies for Heroes” hoagie-building competition.

Wawa says it plans to open six to 10 stores a year over the next five to eight years in Ohio, with the goal of operating 60 locations in the state. The chain is investing $7.5 million to build each store, employing an average of 140 contractors and local partners. Once open, Wawa will employ around 35 associates per store, bringing 2,100 new, long-term jobs to Ohio.

Wawa is currently hiring for Ohio store opportunities for all positions, including customer service associates and managers. To apply at Wawa, visit wawa.com/careers.
