Kenton County Parks & Recreation’s elves have made it easier than ever to reach the man in red this year.
Because COVID has put the kibosh on the tradition of sitting on Santa’s lap this holiday, Kenton County has installed several “Santa Express Mailboxes” for kids to send — and receive — special Santa mail.
Find the mailboxes at all Kenton County Public Libraries (just use their drive-thru service to drop yours here), the Kenton County Government Center in Covington and Kenton County Animal Services; they’ll be up through Dec. 14.
You can also submit you letter to Santa at bit.ly/kcletterstosanta; he’s very tech-savvy.
No postage is necessary to reach Santa in the North Pole. Just drop your letter in the mailbox during regular business hours at any location and expect a response by Christmas.
Kenton County Parks does want to remind each child to make sure they include a name and address in their letter if they want to guarantee a reply:
“Santa, of course, knows where each child lives; however, the post office needs home addresses to deliver the letters! Because each child at the same address will receive a different letter from Santa at home, it is very important that the child’s name and complete home address are correct and legible.”
The entire “Letters to Santa, Letters from Santa” program is free, but if you’re feeling in the holiday spirit, please bring a non-perishable food or personal care item with you when you drop your letter. It will go to help Be Concerned, Northern Kentucky’s free food pantry.
