Cincinnati Reds vs. Houston Astros
Friday – Sunday, Great American Ballpark, downtown
After maintaining their spot atop the league for all of April, our Redlegs suffered a precipitous drop in the standings after dropping a game to the worst pitcher in baseball against the Rockies, getting swept by the Pirates (ew), and losing two games to their division rival, the Chicago Cubs. Now four games back, the Reds have a lot of catching up to do. Here’s hoping they seize the opportunity against the depleted Astros, who are currently one of the worst teams in baseball and just announced their star infielder Carlos Correa would undergo season-ending ankle surgery.
Art on Vine: Mother’s Day Edition
Sunday, 12 p.m., Washington Park, Over-the-Rhine
The next Art on Vine will be the event’s final occurrence at Washington Park for the time being. This weekend’s version of the event is Mother’s Day themed, and will feature over 80 of Cincinnati’s best independent makers, artists and creators. As usual, Art on Vine is free and family-friendly; this edition, however, is designed to be the ultimate, zero-stress celebration of moms, grandmothers and mother figures.
Friday – Sunday, Riverfront Row, Newport
This festival promises BBQ of all sorts—ribs, chicken, pork, brisket, wings and more—right at the river with a perfect view of the Cincinnati skyline.
Saturday, 12 p.m., Shopper’s Haven Plaza, Loveland
The 13th Annual Loveland Food Truck Rally is rolling back into town for an unforgettable day filled with delicious food, live music, family fun and community spirit. 30 food trucks are on hand to provide plenty of options, and live music will be going all day.
Burritofest Music Festival 2026
Thursday – Saturday, The Comet, Northside
What started as a way to re-energize local music after the pandemic has evolved into a completely unique institution in its own right. Next month, local music curators Burrito Boys Booking will once again take over the Comet for their fifth annual Burritofest. The pay-what-you-can music fest features a massive array of artists from all genres across two stages.
Friday – Sunday, First Financial Center, downtown
The Villain Arts Tattoo Festival is exactly what it sounds like: tattoo contests, burlesque shows, performances from magicians and contortionists, and more. Plus, “Ink Master” alums James Vaughn, Holli Marie and A Fliction will be in attendance.
Cincinnati Slingers vs. Utah Great 8’s
Saturday, 6:30 p.m., Heritage Bank Arena, downtown
If you haven’t heard, Cincinnati now has a team in the International Arena League, an eight-on-eight indoor football league that progresses at a much faster pace than regular NFL play. This weekend, the Slingers take on the Utah Great 8’s.
Crafty Supermarket: Spring Edition
Saturday, 11 a.m., Music Hall, Over-the-Rhine
The twice‑yearly celebration of handmade goods, creative entrepreneurs, and community returns to Music Hall this Saturday. Pick up something in advance of Mother’s Day, or just grab some beautiful handmade ceramics for yourself.
55th Annual Appalachian Festival
Saturday, 11 a.m., Front Street, New Richmond
Celebrate the rich traditions and stories of the Appalachian region this weekend at the 55th Annual Appalachian Festival. The fest transforms New Richmond into a mountain village, where you can experience what life was like in the Appalachian Mountains. The streets will be lined with artisan shops and mouthwatering food while Native American performers share their culture and music.
