Findlay Market’s oldest and one of its most popular merchants is moving out temporarily, but it’s not going far.

Eckerlin Meats, best known for its award-winning goetta; fresh cuts of beef, select pork and chicken; and other homemade meat fare, is relocating to the former Mighty Good Meat ‘n Three space at 1819 Elm St. nearby while its market space undergoes renovations.

The meat store says this temporary space is the best solution to keep the store open and operations running. Once renovations are done, it’ll move back into its Findlay Market storefront, which owners say will take around 18 months. Store hours will remain the same.

While in their temporary home, Eckerlin says it’s rolling out new breakfast and lunch menu items for sit-down or take-out and testing recipes and ideas to see which ones it’ll take back to the market space. These items include:

  • Signature Steak Burger
  • Pork Belly Porchetta
  • Housemade Wagyu Pastrami
  • Bobby’s Steak Sammich
  • Fried Chicken Sammich

Eckerlin will also be using the back area, or “Meating Room,” to offer cocktails and beer to go with their prepared food options.
