Over-the-Rhine restaurant Mighty Good: Meat n’ Three announced Friday, Feb. 24 that they will be closing their doors on Saturday, March 4. The restaurant was known for its Southern-style fare where customers got to choose one meat and three sides.

“The thing we want to say first and foremost is — thank you, thank you to all of our loyal customers, our in-town and out-of-town visitors, and our cheerleaders behind the scenes,” the restaurant wrote in an Instagram post. “We enjoyed every single conversation, took pride in every dish we made, and loved getting to know you and your families. We will miss seeing market shoppers stopping in for Saturday morning brunch and weekday lunch with friends.”

The restaurant did not give a reason for the closure.

Mighty Good opened its doors in October 2021 with offerings like catfish, hushpuppies and other Southern favorites. The restaurant at 1819 Elm St. was initially Social OTR and was a place launched by the Corporation for Findlay Market and CityLink where culinary students could learn more skills. Social OTR closed for a time during the pandemic before reopening under the Mighty Good concept.

“Many students spent time at the restaurant, building their skills as they begin their journey in the hospitality world,” they wrote in the Instagram post, adding students will still get to learn culinary skills at the CityLink Center, but the program will focus on externships.

The restaurant also said they will share plans for what will happen at 1819 Elm St. in the future, but say, in the meantime, they’re hoping to see customers one more time before shutting their doors.
