An Over-the-Rhine bakery is expanding. Allez Bakery announced on social media that it will be opening a cafe at 1201 Main St., just across the street from its original location.
The cafe will open in February and the bakery says all prepared food will move to that location. Allez says it’s also expanding its menu to include more sandwiches, soup, salads, coffee service and an evening service with drinks.
Owners Thomas McKenna and Patrick Hague first opened Allez in 2017. Since then, the bakery has grown in popularity and it even received praise from Food & Wine magazine, which named it one of the best bakeries in the country in 2020 and in 2022 said it was one of three Ohio bakeries with the best bread. In the Instagram post announcing the cafe, McKenna said the growth has been wonderful, but it’s also highlighted the limitations of their current space.
Allez is now hiring for its new cafe. McKenna says they are looking for a barista, a counter person, a morning kitchen member, a lunch kitchen member and a bartender. If you’re interested in applying, you can email tom@allezbakery.com.
