Pittsburgh-based donut chain Peace, Love and Little Donuts has officially opened its first Cincinnati location.
The donut shop is located just off of Hyde Park Square on Edwards Road and offers “tennis ball-sized” made-to-order donuts with 36 flavor options to choose from.
The donut flavors are split into four categories; Funkadelic, with extravagant options like banana split, blueberry pancake, s’mores and birthday cake; Nutty, with nut-centric options like Buttafinga, PB&J, Elvis and Snick Jagger; Far-Out, with dipped donut flavors including raspberry, banana, chocolate and mocha; and Groovy, simple yet delicious options like powdered sugar, honey glazed, Saigon Sugar and plain.
Donuts range in price depending on the category you choose from and can be purchased as single donuts, a half dozen or dozen.
According to the donut chain’s website, the peculiar size of the donut was an accident that they decided to roll with. “My intention was to make a regular size cake donut versus the minis we had made at outdoor events. No matter how hard I tried, adjusting the machine, changing our batter, back to adjusting the machine, back to adjusting the batter…we just kept getting this crazy sized donut,” founder Ron Razete said. “So, we figured we must be destined to make this tennis-ball-sized donut.”
Peace, Love and Little Donuts is located at 3440 Edwards Road in Hyde Park.
