Just as the weather begins to cool, Over-the-Rhine’s Mikey’s Late Night Slice is heatin’ up.

The pizzeria is welcoming back its Fiery Death with Hate Sausage pizza, which, according to the eatery, has been labeled “The World’s Hottest Pizza.” By who? We aren’t totally sure, but judging by the ingredient list, we certainly wouldn’t doubt it.

This spicy-ass pizza requires you to sign a waiver to purchase and features Carolina Reaper peppers, Trinidad Scorpion peppers and Bhut Jolokia Ghost peppers. According to a press release from Mikey’s, “the pizza originated as a dare between regular customers and the owners of the shop, and has become a hotly anticipated special offering.”

The pizza will be available from Nov. 13-15, which happens to fall on three days of Cincinnati Pizza Week — which the pizzeria is also participating in. The spicy slices will be available with the Pizza Week offer: three pizza-by-the-slices of your choosing.

Last year, Mikey’s Late Night Slice hosted a Fiery Punishment Contest, which involved eight contestants who competed to finish three slices of the Fiery Death with Hate Sausage pizza, plus a raw Carolina Reaper pepper. Participants were required to stay seated five minutes after consuming the pizza and pepper, with no additional food or drink.

A quick search on Instagram of Mikey’s signature hashtag for the pizza, #FieryDeathPizza, garners dozens of heat-fueled photos and videos of those who have accepted the challenged.
