After dynamic and energetic appearances in 2017 at the massive Ubahn Festival (alongside music titans like Big Sean and Steve Aoki) and the recent Cincinnati Entertainment Awards with local Rock band Sylmar, singer/songwriter Audley is gearing up for a probable bigger year in 2018. On Jan. 26, he’ll release his latest solo effort PINK on all the major streaming platforms and, if first single “Game Over” is any indication, it should garner him a lot of attention, both locally and nationally.
Getting his start performing on Hip Hop bills around town, Audley expanded his bookings to include shows with local Indie bands like The Yugos and aforementioned collaborators Sylmar. Like the recent funkadelic work of Childish Gambino, “Game Over” also moves away from a strictly Hip Hop format — it’s a slinky, smoky modern Soul/R&B song that is buoyed by atmospheric, jazzy electronics and keys, a deep bass groove and Audley’s soulful, elastic vocals. Warning: If you listen to the track below, the burrowing melodies will be stuck in your head for days.

“I fell in love with his sound at a show we did together at Café Coco in 2016,” Audley says. “I remember listening to it for the first time and stumbling over melodies, mumbling nonsense. ‘It’s not game over, pass the remote controller babe’ stuck and over time, piece by piece, the rest filled in. Hands down my favorite performance track.”
