The pandemic has been nothing if not prolific for superstar Singer/Songwriter Taylor Swift.

Over the summer, Swift dropped surprise album folklore, which featured 16 tracks — one with Bon Iver, and 11 of which were co-written by Aaron Dessner of Cincinnati-bred Indie Rockers The National.

People absolutely lost their minds over the mystifying collaboration, which became the first “million-selling album of 2020,” according to Hollywood Reporter

And as we inch closer to crossing the finish line of this wild ride of a year, T-Swift has done it again, gifting the world with another surprise album just in time for the holidays.

Swift’s ninth album, titled evermore (the sister album to folklore), drops tonight at midnight (technically Dec. 11). And on that album, you can expect to hear The National on one of Swift’s songs.

The National is featured on the ninth song in the album, “Coney Island,” referring to our Greater Cincinnati Coney Island? We can’t say for sure, we haven’t listen to the album yet, but maybe.

Other featured artists include Bon Iver and Haim.

Swift introduced the surprise album on Dec. 10 with several social media posts. Swift explains what drew her to create the second album.

“To put it plainly, we just couldn’t stop writing songs. To try and put it more poetically, it feels like we were standing on the edge of the folklorian woods and had a choice: to turn and go back or to travel further into the forest of this music. We chose to wander deeper,” her post reads.

In a follow-up post that outlines the album’s songs, Swift thanks her fans for the birthday love and support (her birthday is Dec. 13).

“Ever since I was 13, I’ve been excited about turning 31 because it’s my lucky number backwards, which is why I wanted to surprise you with this now. You’ve all been so caring, supportive and thoughtful on my birthdays and so this time I thought I would give you something! I also know this holiday season will be a lonely one for most of us and if there are any of you out there who turn to music to cope with missing loved ones the way I do, this is for you,” she explains.

She will also drop the music video for the first song on the new album, “Willow,” at midnight tonight.

You can purchase the digital album online and it will be sent to your email once it’s released.
