The Queen City had an exceptionally warm December with a not-so-white Christmas, but today may be the first snow Cincinnatians see this winter.
According to the National Weather Service, there is a 50% chance of precipitation Thursday afternoon with a possible accumulation of half an inch.
As of Thursday morning, it doesn’t look like the snow is expected to stick around long because Saturday’s highs will reach into the low-40s with a 100% chance of rain.
While the chance for a big storm is low, we know from last year that snow forecasts are not always accurate and things can change quickly, so be prepared.
If you’re looking to go sledding, this storm may not bring what you need, but don’t give up just yet. According to the Farmers’ Almanac, the Ohio Valley region (including southern Ohio, northern Kentucky and parts of West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Indiana) should experience some of its snowiest periods in mid-January and mid-to-late February.
