Fall is blooming at Gorman Heritage Farm with the return of its annual Sunflower Festival.

The Evendale nonprofit farm is gearing up for its annual sunflower celebration Saturday-Sunday. Oct. 4-5. During the festival, guests can roam through a four-acre sunflower field and cut their own for just $1 a stem.

In addition to crafting your own sunflower bouquet and snapping Instagram-worthy selfies, attendees can also enjoy other fall activities, including “Ready-Set-Grow” activity stations, hayrides, a crop maze and the chance to meet friendly farm animals like Eddie the Cow, sheep, goats, mules, miniature horses, turkeys and more. There will also be a craft market, featuring over 30 vendors and artisans, and you can sample food from over 10 food trucks and beer from HighGrain Brewing.

“Fall is one of the most special times of the year to visit the farm,” Katie Schoeny, interim executive director of Gorman Heritage Farm, said in a press release. “Our Sunflower Festival brings people together to celebrate the beauty of the season — from the golden sunflower fields and delicious food and craft vendors, to friendly farm animals and beautiful garden spaces. It’s a joyful way to experience the farm, make lasting memories and support our mission as a nonprofit educational working farm.”

The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. You can buy tickets in advance here — $12 for adults and $8 for children and seniors. Tickets at the door are $15 for adults and $10 for children and seniors. Gorman Heritage Farm members can get in for free.

And if you can’t make it to the Sunflower Festival, the autumnal activities continue at Gorman Heritage Farm with Fall Fun Days the following two weekends (Oct. 11-12 and Oct. 18-19). From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, guests can take a hayride, explore the crop maze, get a pumpkin and visit with the farm animals. Learn more here.
